Worth mentioning I deliberately combined Egyptian & Greek references in this artwork. The style is Egyptian, while the human-serpent creature called Cecrops is taken from Greek mythology; King Cecrops I to be more precise, who supposedly reigned Athens in the 16th Century BC. A couple hundred years before this Egyptian painting it seems, not too far off. Plus Cecrops was allegedly succeeded by other human-serpent kings like Erichthonius & Erechtheus. So I thought it would be fun to mix things up a little, all the while focusing on a specific timeframe in history.
