Winter view of the Katie Ledecky Lane sign near the Stone Ridge School of the Sacred Heart in Bethesda, Maryland, USA.

I don't follow sports much, but Katie Ledecky has become a personal role model. She has local roots for one, and besides all her impressive athletic achievements as an Olympic class swimmer, I really admire the humanitarian work she does including science initiatives, refugee advocacy, and bringing cheer to children in hospitals.
