I want to say there are elements of granular synthesis, but I had no idea what granular synthesis was to be honest until creating this track. That was kind of the point though, to experiment with different types of sound & music for the sake of expanding my palette.

Usually I prefer faster tempos, like pop or trance to give me a boost of energy and inspiration. But every now and then I enjoy some down time and soothing sounds in order to recharge my spirits. So this track isn't completely random. More like I had this mental image of stripping down the Universe and its infinite complexities down to a single fundamental particle, like a quark.

Not that I pretend to know how life is like for a quark, but that's where Gemini comes in handy. I can ask it for help on brainstorming, running simulations, even re-interpreting my images into music. In a long roundabout way, that's how granular synthesis came to my attention as Gemini must have equated particles into "grains of music" so to speak. Something I never would have imagined, but pleasantly surprised with the result.
