This one is loosely inspired by a true story. Back in the mid 1990s when I was just a young teenager, we had this black cat called Sylvester. One morning as I was preparing for school and my parents for work, Sylvester was playing with some ornaments from the Christmas tree until it just about knocked over. An immediate crisis ensued as you might imagine. There we were desperately trying to put the Christmas tree back up again like Humpty Dumpty, and I'm sure that Sly cat was watching us with mischievous glee safely tucked away in a corner somewhere.

Nevertheless, it was only a Christmas tree. Not the end of the world, and we managed to right it back up no problem. Only a question of lost time in the morning, which caused Dad to be late for work. The kick is when he had to explain himself to the boss: "Sorry sir, but my cat knocked over the Christmas tree..."

Fortunately for Dad, he always did good work, and was (almost) always above reproach. So he wasn't in any serious trouble or anything, his boss was actually quite amused. But he did tell Dad he could have come up with a more believable story 🤭 I'm here to tell you though, even after all those years, that story is true!
