Originally inspired by this ancient mythological creature from Mesopotamia called Humbaba. The name rolls off the tongue, doesn't it? I don't know enough about this Humbaba yet though, not enough to form a clear image inside my head. Meanwhile, I am looking at this Lanzon deity from the ancient Chavin culture in Peru, and notice some similarities with the creature in this video. Notably, what appears to be a feline face and snakes for hair.

So I don't know... but these sure are some fascinating creatures! I also happen to have a black cat named Draco. Draco being Latin for dragon (or serpent), and thus the title Dracleo was born as a combination of Draco + Leo 🐍🐈‍⬛
