Gerry's Watercolor Communion

Gerry's Watercolor Communion

Re-imagined watercolor portrait of my late father Gérard Raymond as a child dressed up for Communion, based on a vintage family photo circa 1950s. Credits to Google Gemini for helping to generate this recreation.
On a side note, my father was not always familiar with the name Gerry. Born in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Québec, he was very proud of his French heritage. Gerry was more of an Anglicized nickname given to him in his 40s well after he had moved down to the United States, after a phone conversation he had with one of his stock brokers. Very pushy from what I can recall, urging Dad to buy shares of this & that so he could earn his commission fees. With that charismatic salesman pitch mind you, so he would throw out the name Gerry a lot as if Dad & him were longtime buddies. And it worked! From that moment on, he let us know Gerry was an acceptable English name for him 🤭
